ViralSweep automatically tracks and awards entries when participants complete actions in your promotion. However, in some cases—such as restrictive browser settings—entries may not be awarded correctly.
The Edit Entries feature allows you to manually add or subtract entries from a participant’s total.
Note:
If you manually add an entry for a participant, it will count as their entry for that day.
How to edit a participant’s entries
Go to the Entrants tab within your promotion
Use the search bar (top-right) to find the participant by email
Hover over their entry count and click View/Edit
You’ll see a detailed breakdown of:
Actions the participant completed
Entries awarded for each action
From here, you can add or subtract entries.
Adding entries manually
To add entries:
Enter an Entry Description (e.g., “Customer support adjustment”)
Enter the number of entries to award
Click Add
The participant’s total will update automatically.
Subtracting entries
To remove entries:
Enter an Entry Description explaining the adjustment
Enter a negative number (e.g.,
-10)Click Add
The entries will be deducted from the participant’s total.
Fixing duplicate entries from CSV uploads
If you accidentally upload the same CSV file more than once, you can correct the extra entries in bulk.
How it works
Re-upload the same CSV file, but change the entry values to negative numbers to reverse the duplicate entries.
Example
You upload a CSV with 2 entries
You upload it again by mistake → total becomes 4 entries
To fix this:
Open the original CSV
Change the values to negative (e.g.,
2→-2)Re-upload the file
This will subtract the duplicate entries and restore the correct totals.
When manual entry edits are useful
You may need to adjust entries when:
A participant completed an action but didn’t receive entries
A technical issue prevented tracking
You need to correct or remove invalid entries
Duplicate entries were added via CSV upload
