This guide covers how to cancel, downgrade, or pause your ViralSweep subscription, and explains exactly what happens to your billing and data after each action.
How to cancel your subscription
Log in to your ViralSweep account.
Go to Settings → Account → Billing.
Click Cancel subscription and confirm when prompted.
Using Shopify? Uninstalling the ViralSweep app from your Shopify admin does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel directly in ViralSweep at Settings → Account → Billing to stop all future charges.
What happens after you cancel:
Billing stops immediately — you will not be charged at the next renewal date.
You keep access to your account until the end of the current billing period.
All campaign data is permanently deleted 30 days after cancellation and cannot be recovered. Export any data you need before cancelling.
How to downgrade to a lower plan
Go to Settings → Account → Billing → Change Plans.
Select the plan you want to move to.
Confirm the change.
What happens after you downgrade:
Your new plan takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
Features included in your previous plan that are not available on the lower tier will no longer be accessible.
Your existing campaign data and account history are retained — you do not lose data when downgrading.
If your plan change results in a billing credit, it is applied to your next payment.
How to pause your subscription
Go to Settings → Account → Billing.
Select Pause subscription.
What happens when you pause:
No charges for up to 90 days.
After 90 days, your account automatically moves to a $10/month storage plan unless you cancel or reactivate.
Your data and campaigns are preserved during the pause period.
If you want to stop all future billing entirely, cancel your subscription rather than pausing it. Pausing only delays charges — it does not stop them permanently.
Understanding your billing cycle
ViralSweep bills at the start of each billing period, not the end. If your billing date falls before the date you cancel or change your plan, that charge has already been processed and applies to your current period.
Example: If you are billed on the 1st and you cancel on the 5th, the charge from the 1st still applies. Your cancellation takes effect from the next billing cycle onwards.
Refunds
ViralSweep does not offer refunds for unused time or partial billing periods. If you believe you have been charged incorrectly after a confirmed cancellation, contact support. See the Refund Policy for full details.
