Purchases App: How the Order Limit Works

How the Purchases App order limit is counted, what happens when you reach it, whether cancelled or test orders count, and which plan to choose.

Written by Leila Fatehi

Each ViralSweep plan that includes the Purchases App comes with an order limit. This article explains how that limit is calculated, what happens when you reach it, and how to choose the right plan for your promotion.

How the order limit is calculated

The Purchases App order limit is counted per promotion — not per month or per billing period. Each promotion you run has its own order count against the limit on your plan.

The limit counts unique customers, not total orders. If one customer places multiple orders during a promotion, they count as 1 toward your limit — not one per order.

What happens when you reach the limit

When your promotion reaches the plan's order limit, ViralSweep continues to track orders — but entries beyond the limit will not be visible in your dashboard. Customers who order after the limit is reached may still be entered, but those entries won't appear until you upgrade to a higher plan.

If you need to go beyond your plan's limit, you must upgrade to the next plan tier. It is not possible to purchase additional order capacity on your current plan.

  • Business plan: 1,000 orders

  • Premium plan: 5,000 orders

  • Elite plan: for promotions exceeding 5,000 orders

You can upgrade at any time, including while a promotion is actively running. Once upgraded, the additional entries that were tracked but not visible will become available.

Do cancelled, refunded, or test orders count?

Cancelled orders do count toward the limit, but you can delete a cancelled order from within ViralSweep and it will be removed from the count.

If you are unsure whether a specific order type (refunded, duplicate, or test) counts in your case, contact our support team with your promotion number and an example order for confirmation.

Choosing the right plan

To choose the right plan, estimate the total number of unique customers you expect to place orders during your promotion:

  • Up to 1,000 unique customers → Business plan

  • Up to 5,000 unique customers → Premium plan

  • More than 5,000 unique customers → Elite plan (contact us to discuss)

If you expect to run multiple purchase-based promotions within the same billing period, each promotion's order count is tracked separately. Plan accordingly based on the promotion with the highest expected volume.

If you're unsure which plan fits your expected volume, book a call with our team — we can recommend the right plan based on your specific promotion setup.
