Entry frequency limits and how to give participants more chances to win

ViralSweep limits entries to once per day maximum. Learn how to use social actions and purchase promotions to give participants more chances to win without removing the frequency cap.

ViralSweep controls how often a single participant can enter a promotion. This prevents spam, bot abuse, and gaming — and it cannot be removed entirely. The maximum frequency is once per day.

Entry frequency options

You set entry frequency under Edit → Build → Entry Frequency:

Option

What it means

Single Entry

One entry per participant for the entire promotion

Daily Entry

One entry per day — resets at midnight

Weekly Entry

One entry per week — resets at midnight at the start of the week

❌ Multiple entries per day are not possible. You cannot allow a participant to submit the entry form more than once in the same day. This is a hard limit and applies to all plan types.

How to give participants more chances to win

Even with the daily entry cap, there are two ways to let participants accumulate more entries and increase their odds:

Option 1: Bonus entries via social actions

Add post-entry social actions to your promotion (e.g. follow on Instagram, share on Facebook, subscribe to YouTube). Assign a bonus entry value to each action. Participants can complete multiple actions to earn additional entries on top of their daily entry.

This works on all promotion types and all plans.

Option 2: Purchase entries

You can create a Purchase Promotion (Shopify, BigCommerce, or WooCommerce) alongside your regular sweepstakes and assign a fixed number of entries per purchase (for example, 1 purchase = 20 entries). Participants earn entries every time they make a qualifying purchase.

To combine both:

  1. Create your regular sweepstakes and a separate Purchase Promotion.

  2. Set both promotions to the same start and end dates.

  3. Connect them using the 'Connect Promotions' option — entries from both are pooled together when drawing winners.

Spam filter settings

Separately from entry frequency, a spam filter limits the number of entries per IP address. If you need to adjust this, go to Edit → Advanced → Spam Filter. Setting it to Off removes the per-IP cap, but entry frequency limits still apply per participant.
