If you're unable to enter a contest or giveaway powered by ViralSweep, your email address may have been flagged by our spam filter. This article explains why that happens and how a human member of our support team can review your case and remove you from the list if appropriate.

Why your email may be flagged

Your email can be flagged for several reasons. In many cases, this happens automatically to prevent spam or fraudulent entries.

Multiple entries from the same IP address

If multiple people enter from the same network (like a home, school, or office Wi-Fi), only the first entry is counted as valid.

Any additional entries from that same IP address may be flagged—even if they're from different people.

Your email matches a known spam list

ViralSweep maintains an internal list of email addresses and domains linked to spam or abuse.

If your email was added to this list (even by mistake), it may be blocked from entering contests. A support agent can review and remove it if appropriate.

Your email provider uses shared IPs

Some email providers send traffic through shared IP addresses. If those IPs have a history of spam activity, it can trigger false positives—even for legitimate users.

Previous contest violations

If an email address has been associated with:

  • Entering the same contest multiple times

  • Using disposable or temporary email addresses

…it may be flagged across future ViralSweep promotions.

Important:
A flagged email affects your ability to enter all ViralSweep-powered contests, not just a single giveaway.

How to request removal from the blacklist

Blacklist removal requires a manual review by our support team—it can't be done automatically.

To request a review:

  1. Click the chat icon in the bottom-right corner

  2. Provide the following:

    • The email address you want reviewed

    • The contest or brand you were trying to enter

    • A short explanation of why you think the flag is incorrect

Our team will review your request and follow up as soon as possible.

Note:
Removal isn't guaranteed if the flag was applied due to confirmed spam or repeated abuse.

How to avoid being flagged in the future

To reduce the chances of being flagged again:

  • Use a personal, permanent email address (avoid disposable emails)

  • Only enter each contest once

  • Be cautious when entering from shared networks—multiple entries from the same IP may be treated as duplicates
