This feature is only available on our Business Plan and higher.

1) Connect to Retention Science

When setting up your promotion, go to:

  1. Integrations > Email & SMS.

  2. Click Add Service > Retention Science.

2) Get Retention Science Credentials

In order to get your API Key:

  1. Contact your Retention Science account manager to obtain your API Key.

3) Complete the connection

To complete the connection within ViralSweep:

  1. Paste your API Key into ViralSweep.

  2. Check off the box if you want a transactional welcome email sent from Retention Science.

  3. Click Connect.

4) You're connected

The promotion is now connected to Retention Science and all entries will be sent into your account.


What fields do you pass to Retention Science?

First Name
Last Name
Email Address
Address 2
Postal Code
Registration Source (will always be ViralSweep)
​The following fields must be created in your account by reaching out to your CSM or [email protected] to have them created. These custom fields MUST be created before you can pass any values into them.
Referral URL - should be added to your account as referral_url
Promotion ID - should be added to your account as promotion_id
Tracking Campaign Name - should be added to your account as tracking_campaign_name


If you have connected to Retention Science and data is not being added to your account, these are the most common reasons as to why:

Email already in Retention Science
The email address entered into the promotion may already be in your Retention Science account, so it will not be added again.

Email already entered into ViralSweep
The email address entered into the promotion has already been entered into the promotion previously, so therefore it is not passed to Retention Science. This can happen if you set up your Retention Science integration after you have already entered the promotion.

Delay in reporting
Retention Science currently has a 24 hour delay on reporting, so you will not see data in your dashboard for a day or two.
