1) Connect to Mailchimp

When setting up your promotion, go to:

  1. Integrations > Email & SMS. 
  2. Click Add Service > Mailchimp.

2) Complete the connection

To complete the connection within ViralSweep:

  1. Login to Mailchimp.
  2. Authorize the ViralSweep app.
  3. A menu will appear with your Mailchimp lists. Choose a list.
  4. Add any tags you'd like us to pass to Mailchimp.
  5. Decide if you want to disable the double opt-in email Mailchimp sends. 

3) You're connected

The promotion is now connected to MailChimp and all entries will be sent into the connected list.

Please note: If your list has some of these fields set to required in Mailchimp, but you don't have these fields added on your promotion in ViralSweep, then emails will not be added to MailChimp.


Troubleshooting

If you have connected to Mailchimp and data is not being added to your list, these are the most common reasons as to why:

Email already in Mailchimp list
The email address entered into the promotion may already be in your Mailchimp list, so it will not be added again.

Email already entered into ViralSweep
The email address entered into the promotion has already been entered into the promotion previously, so therefore it is not passed to Mailchimp. This can happen if you set up your Mailchimp integration after you have already entered the promotion.

User did not opt-in
The user did not click the link in the double opt-in confirmation email that was sent to them. If they do not click the link, they will not be added to your list.

Delay in reporting
Mailchimp is having a delay in reporting. Try checking again in a few hours.
